The Black Boy has now established itself as the home of Bridgnorth jazz. Sessions are held normally on the first and third Sundays of the month. Please see “what’s on” for details.
As a result of the birthplace of The Industrial Revolution being several and a half metric miles upstream Bridgnorth became, for a short time, the worlds largest inland port. One of the side effects of this was to stuff Cartway to the brim with pubs and brothels. Of the original nineteen pubs only two remain., The Black Boy and Bassa Villa formerly the magpie.
